Many shelters and adoption groups are often left with long-term residents, considered “undesirable” because they have been diagnosed FIV+ or FIV-.
FIV is NOT a death sentence and FIV cats can live out perfectly normal cat lives, with just a tad more consideration and awareness via their owners.
My 8 y/o rescue cat Lina was found FIV+ after being abandoned by her original owners and was cared for by an adoption group for 2 years because no one wanted her – assuming she would be too much of a burden or a responsibility. After having her for 2+ years now, she is the light of my life and the best cat I could ever imagine. A beautiful Siamese, funny, quirky, strong, and full of life, attitude, and lots of zoomies. The only difference between caring for her and a non-FIV cat is an additional trip or two to the vet every year, for an extra blood test to monitor her white blood cell count as a precaution. Otherwise, she’s a perfectly normal cat, deserving of a loving home – like all pets out there.
So, thank you Vanessa; For using your platform to educate and dispel misconceptions surrounding FIV, and most importantly – for giving Dwight a bath.
him that he remains chill. I really hope he has a warm, calm, safe home now with plenty of soft places to snuggle and fun toys to pounce on when he has the energy πŸ₯°That boy be like “I know the difference between the good and the bad humans and this one’s a good one.” So smart, such a great job by whoever rescued him.
So happy to see good education about FIV and an adorable kitty! My favourite bits are when you call him Sir. 😍
Vanessa, bless you for sharing and educating your audience about FIV and its nuances. I love him! He’s the best cat I’ve ever seen in these videos! It breaks my heart that he’s had such a rough past but I’m glad he has a wonderful home now!
This poor old man kitty has clearly been through SO much 😿 It speaks volumes about

Ive got tears running down my face watching this. Just looking at his face you can tell he’s had it rough bless him. Thank you to who ever rescued him and didn’t put him down just cos he’s FIV positive. He deserves all the love and treats. Thank you for bathing him so gently too.
His fur is gorgeous, especially after the groom! What a quiet serious soul – I hope he has a happy and healthy life after his rescue πŸ’•πŸΎπŸ˜
😭😭😭 I just wanna hang out with him and give him treats. You’re too precious Dwight
Dwight is gorgeous!!! I love his face!! Amazing how good he is. My Monty is FIV+. He’s approx 12 yo. A vet recently retested him bc he couldn’t believe he was positive, was as old as he is, & is in such great shape. I absolutely LOVE these videos. She is AMAZING with all the animals, no matter the species, temperament, or anything. I wish she were in FL. I would absolutely take my dog & cat to her!!!
Man, if I had any animal I would take him to you, I just love how you accept every animal and give them a chance, you have a big heart, thank you for caring so much for animals!
Dwight is such a gentleman. I’m very glad he found a good home; my heart breaks thinking about his life as a stray.
What a sweet boy. I know further grooms might not be necessary, but I hope we get to see him again β™₯️
I’m so happy to see popular channels work with/talk about FIV cats. I volunteer at a shelter and our FIV cats are some of the most friendly kitties. They really are just like normal cats, most being more friendly, imo.
what a calm, sweet, mellow boy 😭 delightul indeed! many thanks to his humans for giving him a loving home, and thank you for the FIV education!
